Local Facilities

 

The village centre and beaches are easily accessible and there are plenty of local activities to enjoy for both families and couples.

​

The house  is just a few minutes walk from two sandy beaches, the village with The Hope and Anchor pub, the award winning Cove Cafe/Bistro (both provide good beer and food and welcome children and dogs) and post office. Don't forget the fabulous snacks and food with the best views from the Cottage Hotel and its new Lobster Pods.

​

Other nearby beaches include South Milton with the wonderful Beach House, Thurlestone, Bantham and Bigbury on Sea. 

​

There is easy access from the cottage onto the National Trusts' South West Coastal Path where you can enjoy stunning long and short walks taking in the breathtaking coastline.

 

Nearby Golf courses are Thurlestone and Bigbury. Both challenging courses with wonderful views over Bigbury Bay.

 

Both beaches are ideal for paddle boarding, kayacking, body surfing. Surfing also at Hope Cove with Surfing Schools at nearby Bantham and Bigbury on Sea.

Within an easy drive are Slapton and Blackpool Sands and the lovely Naval estuary town of Dartmouth with its busy estuary, shops and ferry to Kingswear for the steam train to Paignton.

 

The Yachting centre of Salcombe with its lovely estuary views, shops and ferry to East Portlemouth beaches is just 4 miles away and the remainder of the beautiful South Hams is on your doorstep, waiting to be explored.

​

A visit to Gara Rock and its restaurant is a must as is nearby  Soar Mill  Cove with its new Pizza Restaurant 'Slinky and Gingers' at Salcombe Retreat.

​

Kingsbridge 5 miles. Salcombe 4 miles.

​

Kingsbridge  has the quay, supermarkets, independent shops, a cinema and much more.
